OpenRAN stands for Open Radio Access Network, and it refers to a new approach to designing and building the radio access network (RAN) component of a mobile communication network.

Traditionally, RANs have been implemented using proprietary, integrated hardware and software solutions provided by a small number of vendors. However, Open Ran aims to dis aggregate the various components of the RAN, allowing for more interoperability and flexibility.
