The most sophisticated approach emerging in the satellite-linked radio space is the hybrid network - one that intelligently combines Geostationary (GEO) and Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite layers into a single, resilient architecture. This is not a theoretical future concept. It is being deployed commercially today, and the business case is straightforward.
Two-way radios aren’t just voice tools. With the right integration, your radio network can read plant status, trigger alarms, and feed data directly into your industrial…

This is the handheld for organisations where communications are operationally critical. It is not just about voice. It is about protocol flexibility, better security, stronger situational awareness, better ruggedness and a radio platform that can grow with the user’s system. If a customer wants to buy once and buy properly, this is one of the strongest Kenwood options in the range.
That flexibility is the key sales point. In the real world, radio installations are rarely one-size-fits-all. Vehicles, plant rooms, gatehouses and control points all create different mounting and usability challenges. The NX-3720E / NX-3820E gives buyers a platform that can adapt to those situations while still delivering proper professional digital performance.
For many users, this model hits a very useful middle ground: it feels like a serious professional radio, but it remains practical to deploy because the accessory side is simpler. If your team wants a strong digital platform without moving into more specialised connector ecosystems, this can be a very sensible choice.
This is the sort of radio that starts to make sense when communication is no longer just a convenience. If your staff work across larger sites, multiple teams, or safety-sensitive environments, the benefits become clearer: better situational awareness, stronger audio, more control over features, and room to scale. The universal 14-contact audio connector also supports wider accessory and application options.
One of the biggest advantages of this model is that it gives you a multi-protocol mobile platform at a cost-effective level. For businesses with mixed fleets or a gradual migration plan, that matters. It also brings the kind of features users expect in real operations: scan, site roaming, remote stun/kill/check, display customisation, horn alert/public address, and ignition sense.
If your organisation needs a dependable professional radio without jumping straight into the highest-price tier, the Kenwood NX-1200 / NX-1300 is a very strong place to start. It is designed as an entry-level professional set, but it still gives you a choice of DMR or NXDN digital models, mixed digital and analogue operation,
