Mistakes
Hiring a radio repeater often leads to mistakes.
What many hire companies provide is not the best.
The equipment is not the best solution, as they provide two antennas.
One antenna is used for receiving, and the other for transmitting.
Using two antennas can lead to what is known as desensitisation of the receiver.
Basically, signals from the transmitting antenna, are too strong, and too close to the receiving antenna.
This has the effect of reducing the sensitivity of the received signal.
Better Solution
A better solution is to use a Duplexer.
A Duplexer is a device that allows a single antenna to be used for both transmission and reception.
It keeps signals separated, which eliminates the desensitisation problems of using separate antennas.
